Educational and vocational training IeFP
IeFP courses, or Istruzione e Formazione Professionale in Italian, are another type of higher education. These schools are very similar to technical and professional institutions because they prepare students at the professional level.
The IeFP courses, however, are managed by the Regions and are a bit shorter as they last 3 or 4 years, depending on the course and location. To enroll, you must have obtained the high school, or scuola media, licenza media.
IeFP courses also last from September to June, for 5 or 6 days a week.
Here, students learn basic subjects, such as language, mathematics, and history, but they also get a lot of practical training. IeFP courses include many workshops and periods of experience or internships at local businesses to learn by working. In this way, students gain professional experience during the study period
