How can I RENEW my permesso di soggiorno per lavoro autonomo?

Renewal of permesso di soggiorno per motivi di lavoro autonomo can be requested at the Questura through the authorized post office (Poste Italiane), by filling out the appropriate forms (postal kit) 60 days before the expiration of your current permesso di soggiorno.

The submitted envelope should include (after filling out Modulo 1 and 2) documents such as:

• Photocopy of your expiring permesso di soggiorno;
• Photocopy of your passport;
• Photocopy of your identity card;
• Photocopy of the certificate of registration with the Camera di Commercio (Chamber of Commerce) or visura camerale (chamber’s visura);
• Photocopy of the partita IVA (VAT) certificate;
• Photocopy of the modello unico (income or tax return form) with an electronic transmission receipt.

ATTENTION
The postal kit should only include photocopies, never send the original documents!
You will bring the original documents with you on the day of the appointment at the Questura.

How much do I have to pay?

If you use the postal kit, you will have to pay:

• €30.00: raccomandata (registered letter)
• €16.00: marca da bollo (revenue stamp)
• A bollettino (bulletin), which costs:
  • €70.46: permesso di soggiorno for 3 months – 1 year
  • €80.46: permesso di soggiorno for 1- 2 years

Attention: If you have lost your document or need to update it (not renew it), you will only have to pay €30.46.
